Today, Akili Platform Tanzania made a significant step toward supporting vulnerable families in Tabora by visiting Mama Hussein’s family in BachuWard. This family faces unique challenges, including raising a child with intellectual and physical disabilities.
During the visit, Mama Hussein shared her heartfelt struggles and aspirations. As the sole caregiver, she bravely takes on the dual role of both mother and father.
Despite her challenges, she expressed a willingness to work hard if provided with a modest capital to start an income-generating activity. Her dedication to improving her family’s situation is truly inspiring.
The child’s needs are also pressing. A mobility aid, such as a specialized bicycle, is crucial to enable the child to attend school and lead a more independent life.
Additionally, the child’s love for sports highlights the need for appropriate play equipment, which would promote physical and mental well-being. Basic nutritional support also remains a critical requirement for this family.
Recognizing the urgency of these needs, Akili Platform Tanzania has resolved to empower Mama Hussein economically. Providing her with the necessary resources will enhance her ability to care for her child and ensure a brighter future for the family.
